Our most recent TechFire event, in association with Equinix, took place in the Aviva Stadium on 6 December 2018. Expert speakers explored the benefits of multicloud.

A simple definition of multi cloud is having a hybrid cloud environment to which is added another cloud supplier, such as hyperscaler’s aligned to multiple SaaS-based applications.

When taken in such terms, many Irish organisations may already be leveraging multi cloud without actually being aware.

But with such complex architectures, comprising multiple vendors, APIs and security implementations, there are new complexities that must be properly addressed to achieve its full potential.

Scott McConnell,
Sales Director, Equinix
Scott has been Sales Director for Ireland and the Emerging Markets with Equinix since 2015. Working in the data centre industry for 13 years he previously held the position of Sales Director for Ireland with Telecity Group and prior to this was Sales Manager for Interxion in Dublin.

Scott is responsible for executing the Equinix sales strategy and has over 20 years’ experience in the ICT sales sector. He has also held various management positions in the telecoms sector in the UK and Ireland. Scott has a BA (Hons) from University College Dublin and a graduate diploma in management studies from the Institute of Commercial Management.


Tadhg Cashman
Services Director, Logicalis
Senior IT Consultancy Director with over 20 years experience in the consultancy sector, with strong management, sales, strategy, technical and commercial skills.

Current role is Director of Infrastructure Consulting for Logicalis in Ireland, with responsibility for managing all aspects of the development of the Infrastructure Consultancy & Support Services practice.

Stuart Halford is the Head of Technology Services & Projects at Goodbody, Ireland’s longest established stockbroking firm.

He is responsible for Goodbody’s technology strategy, infrastructure architecture and information security in addition to leading the delivery of key technology change and operational management of the firm’s technology services and outsourced/managed service providers.
